Applets in Browser - Controls not recognised - CustWin

    User (amar_tech@yahoo.com) posted:

    Hi,

I have a applet application in a JAR file. I open it in a Netscape
    4.08 browser. The application requires JRE1.3 plug-in.

I put Silktest_java2.jar in CLASSPATH. I enable Netscape brower in
extension enabler. Also, I have checked the 'java plugin' check.

SilkTest don't recognise Java controls when I open my JAR application
in a Netscape browser. It just shows 'CustWin'.

Now, I run my JAR file from command prompt (java -jar
application.jar) and SilkTest recognise all controls properly with
    the same configuration.

Did I miss something to configure with SilkTest for applets in
Browser? Why is it not working when applets are opened in Netscape
browser but works when run from command prompt.

    Any suggestions.

    Thanks in advance.
    Amar

Re: Applets in Browser - Controls not recognised - CustWin

I am having the same problem, although mine is a little more frustating. I have a few machines where Silk properly recognizes the Java applets and then I have some other machines that see them as CustWins like you. I have no idea why this is happening since all the Silk is configured the same on all the systems. It is also not a browser/OS version problem because I have two different machines with the same browser and Windows version and one recognizes it as a Java applet and the other a CustWin. This sounds to me like it is a problem with Silk and not how it is setup, however I have been known to be wrong a time or two.
