Finding available Agents and adding them to a list (lsMachine)
Does anyone know if a function that will search the network looking for available Silk Test agents exists.
We have limited PC's for testing but a few of our developers have agreed to let us use there PC's to run tests on overnight. It would save a lot of time and aggravation (not having to run around and check if everyone has left for the evening) if there was some way for Silk Test to query the Network for available agents. This way when the developers leave for the evening all they would have to do is start the Silk Test Agent running. Once an available agent is located it can be appended to the list of Machines to use for testing.
Thanks in advance.
Re: Finding available Agents and adding them to a list (lsMachine)
Couldn't find a built-in one last I tried this. What I ended up doing was creating a function to loop through all of the valid machine names and validating if they where active or not. Basically trapping for failed connections. A list of valid machines where returned. Something like this:
You'll probably need to tweak this a bit. Hope this will at least get you started...
