    More Window Declartion or Less Window Declartion

    Hello

    Our company bought SilkTest 5.5 for new Website Testing in IE 5.0/5.5 & Netscape 4.77/6.0. SO I have to use VO/DOM for that.

    I am in dilema to go with More Window Declartion with Less line of code or Less window Declartion with more line of code.

    Our side has more change every build.

    Becuase of VO/DOM i am thinking which one is Best for SilkTest 5.5

    1) More Window Declartion with Less line of code

    window1.TextField.Click ()

    or

    2) Less window Declartion with more line of code

    BrowserPage.TextField.click()

    thanks

    Re: More Window Declartion or Less Window Declartion

    If your product is going to be changing a lot, go for less window declarations. It will mean less maintenance later.

    Re: More Window Declartion or Less Window Declartion

    John Green has a "partial window declarations" approach that might help. He addressed it in his QUEST 2001 presentation, which is posted on Segue's web site. Check out John's web site http://www.automationexpertise.com too.
