SILK cannot select from an HtmlPopupList

Problem : failure selecting from HtmlPopupList
    version : silk 2.1.2
    browser : NetscapeŽ Navigator 4.X

When I use a statement to select an item from an HtmlPopupList I get the following error message.

*** Error: Control is not responding
    Occurred in Select
    Called from NewApp at application.t(139)

The line from my script is
    BrowserPage.HtmlPopupList("Deposit Type:").Select ("check")

I've tried the suggestion in SILK's online help of adding the following statement before this line, but it got me nowhere.
    Agent.SetOption(OPT_VERIFY_RESPONDING, FALSE)

Does anybody have any other suggestions?

If you are using Netscape 4.5 this probably won't work. If not I would try two things.

In the agent options I would legnthen the window retry period for both keboard and mouse.

I would call the item in the popup list by index number instead of Text

    i.e. Anywin.Myapp.PopupList.Click (#2)

Where #2 is the third item in the list (#0 is the first item)

    Charlotte,

Here's another solution- define the Popup list with specific data in a STRING.

    ----------------------------------
    BrowserPage.HtmlPopupList("Deposit Type:").Select (Data.sCheck)
    ----------------------------------

where Data.sCheck is a STRING, either in QA Organizer or not....

Silk 5.0 with IE 5, but it shouldn't matter.

    Hope this helps,

    Kevin

I have this kind of problem too...

I have tried to pass the text, index, slow the mouse speed.....

What happenned to me that actually the item was chosen but i still have the error so I just ignored the error:

    do
    Page.HtmlPopupList("Dep").Select ("check")
    except
    exceptLog ()

Well it is not elegant, but I could go on with my script without problems...

    Mauro
