    Retrieving Contents in Multitags...

    User (robert_ortega99@yahoo.com) posted:

    Hi,

    I have a multitag statement which is nested in a borderless table
    that looks like this:

    HtmlLink ClickHere
    multitag "Click here"
    "#1"
    "$http:??10.1.3.4:5627?ssp?Login.jsp"

    In my script, I have a statement that looks like this:

    String theURL

    theURL = PhoneServicesAreCurrentlyU.ClickHere.GetText()
    Print(theURL)

    The result is the string: "Click here"

    What I really want is to access the URL and click on it! How would
    one go about accomplishing this?

    Thanks in advance,
    Robert

    Re: Retrieving Contents in Multitags...

    If you know for sure it's going to be the third tag, you can access the URL like this:

    // Get the complete tag
    STRING sURL = Control.WndTag
    // Strip off the parent
    sURL = GetField(sURL,"/",NumFields(sURL,"/"))
    // Get The URL
    GetField(sURL,"|",3)

    INTEGER NumFields
    (STRING sTemp, STRING sParse)
    {
    INTEGER iReturn = 0, iLen, iLoop;
    iLen = Len(sTemp);
    for iLoop = 1 to iLen
    {
    if (sTemp[iLoop]==sParse)
    {
    iReturn++;
    }
    }
    return iReturn;

    }

    If you don't know how many tags there are, or where the URL will be, just write a parsing routine for the control tag.

    Hi,

    There is a function in the aeweb3.inc library called LinkPathClick (sURL).
    You can pass it a partial URL and it will search the HtmlLinks to find the
    one containing the URL you specified. It will search the tables if the link
    isn't directly on the page.

    You can download the library from automationexpertise.com

    Robert,

    How about using the GetLocation method.

    String theURL

    theURL = PhoneServicesAreCurrentlyU.GetLocation .GetText()
    Print(theURL)

    Eric, Robert, et al,

    That's exactly what the LinkPathClick () function uses - GetLocation ().
    However, you DON'T NEED TO HAVE A DECLARATION for the object, you just need
    to know a part of the URL, for example, the id number you just created or
    retrieved from the DB.
