    Verify objects are locked?

    Hi,

I have a VB form full of edit boxes and dropdown lists. You open the form and all the objects are locked, you can't edit any info in them or select anything else, until you select 'allow editing' in the menu.

My question is how can I get SilkTest to verify that these objects are locked, before allowing them to be editable.

I have tried VerifyProperties, IsEditable(), IsEnabled but they don't give me the result I want.

    Any help please?

    Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the vague answer, but it's been a while. The property that you are looking for is bLocked, I think.

    Re: Verify objects are locked?

Thanks John, but I can't seem to find anything on bLocked either in the documentation or through doing Verify Props.

    Any other ideas?

    Cheers.

    Re: Verify objects are locked?

In VB when a textfield is read only, the following SilkTest agent should return true:

    form.textbox.bLocked

When a VBCommandButton is dissabled, I seem to remember using xbEnabled. So the following line of code should return false if a command button is dissabled:

    form.VBCommandButton.xbEnabled

As for the manuals...you may not find much about this in there. If you go to the Help menu inside SilkTest though, you can get to the library browser. This dialog will tell you all the relevent properties and methods to try.

    Re: Verify objects are locked?

    Thanks John,

I've got it now... used .GetPropertyList() to return all properties then I found '$Locked' in the list.

So used .GetProperty("$Locked") returning TRUE/FALSE and it works perfectly.

    Cheers.
