Can Dynamic References/ Declarations be used in Silk test 5.01

My Company has purchased Silk 5.01 and isn't able to upgrade at this time. We are just starting to implement the automated test effort. I'm testing a web application that changes frequently, and while have programming experience I am new silk itself.
It appears that 5.01 predates the DOM extension, so I'm wondering is it possible to use Dynamic object declarations in the include file in Silk 5.01?
Or is the DOM extension mandatory to acomplish this?

What do you mean by "so I'm wondering is it possible to use Dynamic object declarations in the include file in Silk 5.01?"

Can you tell me what do you want/try to do?

    Sorry If I was unclear.
I'm trying to define the objects in the test test frame/include file in such a way that when objects have moved on the site, because some have been added or removed. I can test the remaining ones without having to re-record the page declarations, or go through the script changing object names so they match new indexes.
    is that more clear?

hi whiteheart! u can make use of existing declarations without re-recording them if some of them are removed..but see that tag should not change for the window..
however if new controls are added into it u have to record them..

If you have a registered copy of Silk 5.01, you can download 5.03 or 5.50 from segue.com, all you have to do is provide your customer ID and PW. You can get this by calling your friendly segue representative at the number listed at the web site

You can only download 5.5 - prev versions aren't avail on the site. For example, I have the 5.0.3 CD but I cannot download the 5.0.3.2 update - it is not there.... luckily I have a copy downloaded from before .

Actually my company has a valid license but not a current maintenance contract (the two are separate) and it is the maintenance contract that allows you access to the new upgrades. So until the new contract is purchased we have to do the best we can with what we have.
