    hMachine = Connect(sMachine)

    I'm attempting to connect to multiple machines from a list of machines. I can never get my code to nest on this forum, so this may not look pretty, but I'll try it:

    What is happening is, right after the line hMachine = Connect(sMachine), code execution jumps all the way down to the return statement, and I cannot discern why this is. There must be something glaringly obvious that I'm just missing. Can anyone see it?

    Sorry if this messge turns out messy.

    Re: hMachine = Connect(sMachine)

    To be honest, it looks fine from here; I have occasionally had problems with code execution, and have found that simply messing around with it and putting hacks around the place (e.g. if true... to just get a line executed that was being mysteriously missed out), normally gets it working properly. No idea what the source of the problem is though.

    I too can't see anything wrong...

    try to put a :
    do
    [ ] hTargetMachine=Connect(sMachine)
    except
    (get the error code or some other debugging info here)

    did you trace thru with the debugger and check your variables? check your Handle variable declarations as well..

    Re: hMachine = Connect(sMachine)

    Jane and Vince...

    I think we have a clue to what is happening here.

    When we use Ghost to unghost these machines there is an issue with machine names. The images we have are used on multiple machines. We have four "types" or configurations of machine in this lab, and one image that is used for each of them. When a machine is unGhosted it comes back with a machine name of LabImage. We then have a renaming routine that runs, giving the machine its proper and unique name.

    It seems there is an issue with the DNS getting all this resolved, so when I have SILK attempt to connect to a machine with name XYZ, it is not entirely certain with whom to connect.
