Has anyone come across an error like this:

*** Error: Internal error in agent - AppId 2196 not found

    SILK 5.5 IS A NIGHTMARE!

You've definitely upgraded the Agent to version 5.5 as well? I always forget to do that, with every upgrade, until I start to get weird errors in the agent.

Is the Agent not upgraded by the upgrade pack automatically(ex:for 5.32 upgrade)??

I had this error yesterday with different # though.

The agent must be 5.5 because you must remove your previous version of Silk before installing 5.5.

I can't figure out what has gone wrong. This new version was working okay until yesterday. I'm wondering if SilkMeter is causing the problem?

I plan on removing 5.5 and reinstalling 5032.
There really have been no advantages to using 5.5. So far, I've seen absolutely no support for Netscape 6 (which Silk claims is supported!). The agent doesn't even recognize the Netscape 6 main window.

    Thanks.

use ps.exe under win2k or winnt. It will give you the appid of all opened app.

SO you can see which app is silk talking about.

Hope this can help. I had AppID stuff from time to time when I started using DOM.

    geliopou

I am using Siltest 5.5 on IE DOM & Netscape 6. Both works fine for me using 5.5
The 5.5 agent Recognizes Netscape 6 Browser and i was able to run the same script remotely in different machine

In Silktest 5.5 my codeing becomes easy compare with 5032 So i am happy with 5.5

I am using IE and Nets DOM controls, so it make my work easy.

    good luck to you

I am sure by now they are working on this kind of problem. Just to make sure they do that you should report any bug or issue to Segue. Maybe they have an answer for you.

    Re: Strange Error Silk 5.5

    Automateordie,

We've decided to revert to 5.0.3.2.

What type of extension setup did you use for Netscape 6?

I used Netscape 6 DOM, and that alone did not do the trick. Silk saw everything as a custom (mozilla) window and when I tried to execute a simple test case, I would always get a Netscape 6/DOM window not found error.

Not to mention that Netscape 6 is a resource hog and it would slow down my machine to a crawl (and sometimes a FREEZE!), then I would have to end the Netscape process in task manager just so it would release my agent.

I wasted a whole daying messing around with Net 6 and decided to leave it alone for now.

    Thanks,

    George
