Silk & Browser Out of Sync?

Have you ever had Silk and the browser get out of sync with each other after a 2nd window has appeared?

We've found a workaround that fixes this problem over 75% of the time.

After closing the 2nd window, make the following 4-test statements. This is a function in the aeweb3.inc library (ResetBrowser (2))

    Desktop.GetChildren ()
    Browser.GetChildren ()
    BrowserPage.GetChildren ()

The return values from these calls are thrown away. Just making the calls themselves gets Silk back in touch with the browser window!

    Hope this helps

What do you mean get out of synch?

Do you mean silk doesn't call your browser properly?

Note: I had this one function that grabbed popup browser's caption, and I also used GetChildren()
to have silk get the correct browser's Caption name. Otherwise it doesn't work properly. Now I use user32.dll functions to grab any Captions, with no strange calls.

Re: Silk & Browser Out of Sync?

I think what John means is that the frame file just gets "out of step" with your browser.

The way silk "tags" the browser seems to ocassionally break. I just used John's suggestion for a nasty problem, and it worked! I think that under the covers these calls are causing a stale cache to be thrown
    away.

I don't know if I will HAVE to continue to do this .. but it's not a bad work around at all! Still Segue should fix this SOON!
