Autocomplete feature

Hello, I am currently evaluating automation tools and SilkTest is one of the ones I am looking at.

I have a question about the editor. Does anybody know if there is a feature that I can turn on that will autocomplete methods or properties of an object? What I am looking for is something like in VB or Visual Studio, when you type:

Object.I(autocomplete would list all methods/properties that start with I that belong to object Object)

I've seen this in WinRunner but I cannot find it in SilkTest.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Re: Autocomplete feature

    It doesn't exist in Silk.

It would be very nice though.

Segue, are you listening? Time to update the editor? how long has it been?

UPDATE THIS BABY SEGUE! The diaper stinks:P

For all window methods, check anywin.
For non-winwow methods, browse the help

It might seen un-motivating, but necessary.

    Re: Autocomplete feature

I see in the help file for 5.5.3.1 that there is supposedly a section under Options->General called "AutoComplete area", as well as one called "MemberList Options area". However, I don't see these areas in the actual options dialog
Is there anyway to turn this on, or was this added to the help file as a teaser to motivate us to buy 6.0?
The features that they list look very nice, and it would sure be nice to have them. Esp:

quote:
Window Children displays all window objects of type WINDOW that are defined in window declarations in the referenced .t and .inc files. Works with parent statement, with statement, and this keyword. Indicated in the MemberList with a yellow icon.

    Re: Autocomplete feature

Isn't this supposed to be one of the new features in the soon-to-be-released SilkTest 6.0 ?

See the thread "SilkTest 6.0 is NICE.. "

    Re: Autocomplete feature

AutoComplete - or an Intellisense-like capability - is definitely included in SilkTest 6.0.

mpalombo - ask your Segue sales rep about it. We can show it to you now. 6.0 will be available this quarter.

    Re: Autocomplete feature

    Can't wait to see it.

This might give us a reason to finally upgrade from 5.0.3.2.

Silk 5.5 didn't have any features that made it worth the hassle :-)
