    IE 5.0 + DOM extensions + frameset

    I'm having problems testing a web page using
    IE 5.0
    Silktest 5.0.3.2 + DOM extensions.

    For e.g using the following page: http://www.stqemagazine.com/

    Silktest sees the different frames as Browsechild, but it doesn't seem to see the elements (html links, images, ... etc) in the frames.

    How do I set Silk properly in order to achive this.

    Thanks for your help.

    Re: IE 5.0 + DOM extensions + frameset

    If you can somehow redirect the frame under test in a different browser it would work.

    Otherwise no big luck.

    I had similar problem when I was using VO which is even more generic about detecting objects. It could see the objects but it couldn't access them while running the test(not all of them).

    My work around: using TypeKeys().

    Are you in a position to switch to VO to get what you need, and switch back to continue with your testcase?

    Re: IE 5.0 + DOM extensions + frameset

    I can switch to VO, but I get the same results as with DOM. So I finally upgraded to IE 5.5 and everything seems to be Ok. But what if I need to run tests against IE 5.0 ?

    How would I use TypeKeys when Silk is not even seeing the objects in the Frames? ABTW, I cannot redirect the frame in another Browser? Don't know why? Any ideas ?

    Thanks for your help.

    As far as IE 5.5 vs. 5.0, it's hard to say. SilkTest may behave with 5.0 on another machine, if you're lucky .

    I always try to code for different browser combinations but never really know how it's going to go until I run them. You will always find a workaround, though, if you need to.
