How do I run all test cases in a script from Plan file?

Let me explain a little better..

Is there any way to run all the testcases by just typing in the script name in the plan .pln file i.e.

    script: Demo.t

I have hundreds of testcases in my scripts files and it hard to type them all in a plan file.

Open a results files, on main menu choose Results\Convert to plan. I've never used this but it appears to be what you want.

Re: How do I run all test cases in a script from Plan file?

I tried your suggestion. It puts all the testcases in the plan file but it complains that there is no description assosiated with testcases i.e.
    [-] script: Demo.t
    [ ] testcase: OpenPropertiesWindow
    [ ] testcase: AddNewProperties
    [ ] testcase: BlankProperties
    [ ] testcase: DupProperties

It expects description associated with all test cases like this
    [-] script: Demo.t
    [-] description 1
    [ ] testcase: OpenPropertiesWindow
    [-] description 2
    [ ] testcase: OpenPropertiesWindow
    [-] description 3
    [ ] testcase: OpenPropertiesWindow
so now i'll have type all descriptions in which I was tring to avoid.

Re: How do I run all test cases in a script from Plan file?

You can run all of your testcases from a plan by doing:

    script: myscript.t
    testcase: main

This won't show you each testcase in the results, however. In the long run, you're better off creating testplans, using attributes, so you can easily select which tests you want to run, and so you can get Completion Reports showing your progress towards automation.

    Hope this helps

Thanks, it works. There should be any other way to do it besides using main().

    Hi KS,
You do not need to write script with every tescase in plan and all testcase, if you will convert from result file. That file will show all testcase.
    Thank you

Re: How do I run all test cases in a script from Plan file?

My BAD, I was deleting the # signs every where everytime I'd convert .res into a .pln. That is the correct format:
    [-] #script: Demo.t
    [ ] #testcase: OpenPropertiesWindow
    [ ] #testcase: AddNewProperties
    [ ] #testcase: BlankProperties
    [ ] #testcase: DupProperties
    [ ] #testcase: BlankAllowedProperties
