    using diff in scripts

    Hi,
I am using diff(unixtool for windows) in my scripts. When I run it from within script its saying files are different.
    cmd.typekeys("diff file1 file2<enter>")
Same files when compare from dos box are same.
Any ideas why this is happening.

    Thanks,
    ALka

    Re: using diff in scripts

Can you actually see the output of your command(diff file 1 file2)??

Make sure you see that result or grab it.

I hope you are comparing the correct files.
    Why don't you use:

    boolean SYS_CompareBinary (sFile1, sFile2)
    boolean SYS_CompareText(sFile1, sFile2)

    to see what's wrong.

    Re: using diff in scripts

Thanks, this is better now using Sys_CompareText. then if the files are different then I am using
    diff (sfile 1 sfile2 > sfiledif).
and printing the contents of sfiledif in a string to see what is different.
Not sure if this is the best way but doing its job.
