Silk doesn\'t recognize any objects on the web page

Quite often, after installing, Silk (5.0.3 and 5.5) doesn't recognize any objects on a web page (IE 5.5, IE 4.0). All it displays when trying to record a window declaration is a whole web page as one object: "CustomWin InternetExplorer_Server1".
Changing from DOM to VO and vice versa doesn't help. Active desktop is turned off. Tried to install/uninstall Silk several times.

I've encountered this problem many times but never got a solution. Any help will be appretiated.

You tend to get this problem if another tool like WinRunner or QARun are installed or have been installed on the same machine.

Unfortunatly none of these two was ever installed on any of these machines. May be some other software.

Only thing I can think of is...

have you enabled the correct extensions in the "Extension Enabler" package from the Silk Test program group on your 'Start' menu?

This must be done as well as enabling the extension within Silk Test (Options --> Extensions).

I encounterd the same problem. When I reinstalled 5.3 and 5.5 the problem went away. It happens when paths are some how not pointing to correct extentions.

Browser extention for host is by default support all browsers. Client extention is whatever you selected at install time.

1)try to upgrad as suggested( I am not sure about it)

2)Check your extentions again. The host extention reside in your program folder. not within siltest.
