    PopupList.Select ( #n) get error

    I am using SilkTest5.5, IE5.5 and NT4.0 testing a Web application.
I try to select an item from a HtmlPopupList.
    The script is:
    AssignPlan.MyWayCallReceivingPlanSche.From2.Select (9)

The item is selected, but the test is failed because the following error:
[ ] *** Error: Mouse coordinate (512,1023) is off the screen
    [ ] Occurred in Select

    Any one can help me?

    Thanks in advance,

    Linda

    Re: PopupList.Select ( #n) get error

    Hi,

Usually we have to specify the parameter in doublequotes and the index of the option being selected should follow by '#'.
    For instance :
    PopupList.Select("#1") or
    PopupList.Select("USA")

PopupList.Select(1) some times returns error in IE 5.5.

I hope this may work for all the versions of IE.

    Thanks,
    Ramesh.

    Re: PopupList.Select ( #n) get error

I too had that problem because the popuplist extended past the end of the web page when I clicked on it to select an item. To get around it, I had to use 'Typekeys' and the item name, then a 'Tab'.
    ie:
    [-] do
    GOM.SiteData.CRPList.TypeKeys (Data.Router)
    GOM.SiteData.CRPList.TypeKeys ("<Tab>")
    [-] except
    ...

(My problem occurred on Netscape & Win95 w/ST5.0.3.2). The Tab does not seem to show up in the 2nd typekeys line, but I have a Tab in there.

    Re: PopupList.Select ( #n) get error

I had the same problem with 5.0.3.2 and IE5.5 with DOM. It actually would select the item preceding it and give me the error.

So I get the control the popup list using TypeKeys or whatever and again using TypeKeys("<Up/Down>") to select the item i required.

    Hope this helps

    Re: PopupList.Select ( #n) get error

Had a similar issue where I had a list that extended beyond the viewable area. Did a GetContents() on it and threw that into a List of String. Then did a walk through that list and performed the appropriate action on each item depending on what it was and what I wanted to do with it. For whatever reason, I was able to create the list of string and perform my tasks when I was not able to access the item directly.

    Re: PopupList.Select ( #n) get error

    Simplest solution:

BrowserPage.HtmlPopupList().SetFocus()//usually put it in middle of the screen
    //do you select here

If your popuplist is still too big for your browser than use the TypeKeys()

    Re: PopupList.Select ( #n) get error

    Hi, I am using IE5.5/SilkTest 5.5
I am having the same error as you have listed- but no matter what I use- typekeys, setfocus, select- none of them seem to work.

I have tried with identifier and dynamic instaniation.

    Here is a sample:
    Window.RadioList.SetFocus()
    Window.RadioList.TypeKeys("x")
this types into the field that it was on before these lines of code.

    Select doesn't work at all-
GetContents works, FindItem works, and Gettag works- I just can't seem to get the cursor to go to the RadioList.
    Am I missing something?
Segue is working on this too.
