Mouse coordinate (xx,xxx) is outside of the window

    User (sls5012@yahoo.com) posted:

I am using SilkTest5.5 and IE 5.5 on NT4.0 with Service Package 5 to
    test a Web application.
In my test cases, I have to click a HtmlImage. Because this image is
located on the bottom of the page, I have to scoll down to the bottom
of the page than I can view this image.
In my test case, I wrote: MyObject.OK.Click()
    But I always get:

[ ] *** Error: Mouse coordinate (859,1218) is off the screen
    [ ] Occurred in AssignPlan.MyWayCallReceivingPlanSche.OK.Click

I changed the script to :
    MyObject.OK.Click(1,44,-546)
Get: Error: Mouse coordinate (44,-546) is outside of the window
How can I solve this problem?

    Thanks,

    Linda

Re: Mouse coordinate (xx,xxx) is outside of the window

    Two things you can do.
    1. Insert a line before clicking on the image.
    Browser.(your image identifier).ScrollIntoView()

    2. You can also go to OPtion/Agent, in the VERIFICATION tab, Uncheck the "Verify that co-ordinates passed to the method are inside the window".

    3. You should try NOT to use any co-ordiantes, they are quite unreliable and your scripts will have problems running on other clients which resolution/configurations are diff.

    hope this help,
    VIC

I think your control is outside of your browser viewable area.

Do a SetFocus() on the control. Then click.

    oR

    use Vic's suggestion #1.

Some control like links are scrolled into view when they are not visible, others are not(e.i. HtmlTextField).

Re: Mouse coordinate (xx,xxx) is outside of the window

I have used the ScrollIntoView as Vic suggested. It worked fine on Netscape but sometimes bombed in IE. So I did a
    [+] do
    GOMOrderSiteData.SiteData.ScrollIntoView ()
    [+] except
    ...
so that it would work for both browsers.

I also made sure that the option OPT_SCROLL_INTO_VIEW was set to TRUE, but without the above code, it didn't seem to make a difference.
