    CheckBox

    I have to verify if a HTML Checkbox is not enabled. I have set the Agent Verfication options and Silk still returns (True it is enabled)

    Re: CheckBox

    I think Gerard is confused about what enabled means...

    Enabled means it's not Grey, basically you can interact with it.

    What you're searching for is IsChecked() that should return a false if it is not Checked.

    One knows the difference, so Gerard is not confused about what enabled means...
    One can see the difference, so Gerard is not confused about what enabled means...
    One understands the difference, so Gerard is not confused about what enabled means...
    And one who is unable to see the problem is unable to make assumptions as to whether someone is confused or not.

    Re: CheckBox

    Gerard,

    That was a bit harsh. I think if you continue reading/posting here, you'll find AJ a tremendous help on issues at all levels of complexity.

    Nonetheless, you have the option to call IsEnabled() and IsChecked() on your checkbox. IsEnabled is an inherited method for checkboxes, so you should be able to do this.

    Re: CheckBox

    The version of IE u r using is buggy according to segue. So probably u can try updating the version of IE or you can try using Silk 5.0.2 if u got access. I had the same problem IE 5.5 and Silk 5.0.3.2. I use the TypeKeys method as a workaround.

    Hope this helps

    Re: CheckBox

    Could try this(not tested)

    1)check the checkbox
    2)use IsChecked()

    or

    1)IsEnabled() // I assume it didn't work for you

    Re: CheckBox

    Gerard, please understand I had no intention of making fun of you in any way... I just assumed... And yes, I know what happens when you assume...

    So I appologize if I offended you, the answer was to simply show a very common mistake which people "usually" make.

    BTW are you using DOM or VO?

    Re: CheckBox

    I had the same problem with checkboxes. IsEnabled() always returned true. I had to overide the IsEnabled function and wrote my own function. Basically I just found the current state, then tried to change the state. If the state changed, it was enabled. If the State didn't change, it wasn't enabled.

    I'll have to see if the built-in function works in SilkTest 5.5.
