    capturing right click menu from dos window.

    Hi!
    Can anyone suggest how to capture using silktest right click menu items from dos window. Which is invoked by right clicking on the top left hand corner of the window.
    Aim is to capture all the text from the window by "select all" and then pasting into notepad. Are their any other easier ways to do it.
    Thanks,
    Alka

    Here is a solution, but it's like mega cheesy code... lol. There's got to be a better way, but if this works... sorted!

    (Attached 't' file as 'txt')

    Obviously change "DialogBox("#1")" to what you have labelled Command Prompt in your declaration.

    I've assumed this is for Win2K (or maybe NT) because you can't 'Select All' in Win9x Command Prompt.

    Good Luck!

    Download "QAP Library #1" from the Downloads/Segue area of this website and see if it contains anything useful.

    It contains an archive named dosbox.zip which has a load of SilkTest functions to write/retrive data from specific areas of a DOS window.

    I used this lib a couple of years ago - working with DOS windows is very unpleasant, but classy code like this makes it a little easier...

    I know that dragmouse works on the dos prompt dialogbox. I am not sure if Clipboard get's anything after you do a mousedrag().

    Be careful when you want to access that dos prompt dialogbox. It is called 'command prompt' then when you click on it it's called 'select command prompt'.

    pseudo code
    Hope this can get you started anew.

    This is small function I wrote in order to capture all the text on the DOS window. Its pretty simple and useful

    [-] LIST OF STRING SelectAllText()
    [ ] DOS.TypeKeys ("<Alt-Space>E-S")
    [ ] DOS.TypeKeys ("<Enter>")
    [ ] return Clipboard.GetText()

    Looks like some of the things got deleted I am not sure how.

    The first TypeKepscommand should have
    "<Alt-Space>E-S" // AltKey-SpaceBar-E-S

    The second TypeKepscommand should have
    "<Enter>" // Enter
