    Pop up lists with DOM

    Hi All

When I am trying to select an item by its name using Select method from a popup list in IE5.5 with Silk 5.0.3.2(DOM Ext), I am getting a "mouse co-ordinates out of window" error. I have tried setting the AgentOption as :
    Agent.SetOption (OPT_VERIFY_COORD, FALSE)

    But it doesn't work.
What it actually does is it selects an item just above it:

For ex : My Popuplist contents are:
    it1
    it2
    it3
    it4

    and i am using MyPopupList.Select("it4")-
It selects "it3" and gives me the error.

Currently I have a workaround using TypeKeys .
I am just curious to know whether this is a known problem(because the release notes of 5.0.3.2 say that Select method works for a popuplist) or i am missing any agent settings.

P.S: I have two popuplists - one within a table and one outside of it. I have the same problem with both of 'em.

    Any Suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Sandeep

Re: Pop up lists with DOM

There are several threads in this forum concerning problems with PopupLists - I think having the actual value turn out to be one off from what was picked is in one of them. If you searh for "popuplist" you'll see them all, and I have tried most resolutions with varying results.
What I ended up doing is slow but hey, I'm not sitting there while the thing's running, right?
I go into a for loop, from 1 to the ItemCount of the PopupList, and keep selecting by index from the PopupList until the Value matches the desired string. Then I do a TypeKeys("<Enter>") on the PopupList. For some reason the Enter is needed to lock it in.

    Hope this helps,
    Steve
