    Can\'t click on HTMLLink.

    Hi,

    I've automating a Web application on IE which was working up till this week until one HtmlPushButton control changed to an HtmlLink (per the Windows Identifer) that's NOT underlined. The developer said it is not a link, it's and image. I don't know html so I don't know who's right. Is there any way I can work around this using SilkTest?

    Thank you.

    Include File:
    [ ] //HtmlImage JavascriptBtnDone_onclick //This didn't work.

    [-] HtmlLink JavascriptBtnDone_onclick
    [ ] //tag "javascript:btnDone_onclick()" //<--This didn't work
    [ ] //tag "#1" //<--Nor this.
    [-] multitag "#4" //<--Nor this.
    [ ] "javascript:btnDone_onclick()"

    HTML code:
    <td width="35%" align="right">
    [img]images/next.gif[/img]
    <map Name="bNext">
    <area shape="rect" coords="0,0,90,30" alt="Next" href="JavaScript:btnDone_onclick()">
    </map>
    </td>

    Re: Can\'t click on HTMLLink.

    We had similar problem. We could not get any solution BUT the workaround we got was, use 'typekeys' and get the focus on the 'image'and then typekeys - enter key to click. Hope this works for you too.

    My work around:
    [ ] sLocation = Page.Image.GetLocation()
    [ ] Browser.LoadPage(sLocation)

    Hope it helps.

    Do what Shef says:P

    1)tab from a control near your HtmlLink
    2)and press enter

    if keystrokes don't work then you are stuck with coordinate access.

    Re: Can\'t click on HTMLLink.

    I don't know what the case is with your application, but several years ago, I was testing an application where the links were actually "images" and one of the testers on our team wrote a little script that would edit the style sheet to turn them all back into links.

    The purist in me objects that this taints the testing, but in this case it really didn't make any difference.

    Is something like this an option for you?

    Thanks to everyone's reply. The tabbing over worked. Yeah!
    and saved me the trouble of doing it in NetScape.
    To DJGray, besides the fact that I don't know HTML, I don't think the development group hosting the web server would like it.
