Auto login for WinNT, 98, 95

    Hello!

Does anyone have the old solution for performing an auto login (passing the user name, password, perhaps even domain) in NT, 98 and 95 after a reboot?

Someone had posted a solution by going through the windows registry I think.
Can someone please e-mail me the work-around?

    Thanks,
    Janet

    Hi Janet,

    1. Download TweakUI from our download section at www.betasoft.com
    2. Run it in a temp dir
    3. Right click in *.inf file and select Install
    4. Go to your control panel
    5. Run TweakUI control tool
    6. Go to Network and type in your username/password
    7. Check Enable Autologon then OK

This will let your windows system autologon

Re: Auto login for WinNT, 98, 95

You can also do the following (I've only tried this on NT) ...

    Find registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

    1. add new string value called AutoAdminLogon. set it to 1
    2. add new string val called DefaultPassword. set it to Admin's passwd
    3. make sure DefaultDomainName and DefaultUserName have corect vals

To get nt to run something at boot time:

    Navigate to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run

and create a String val (name unimportant) with the value set to the
path to the executable you want to run (ex. C:\silktest\agent.exe)
