Java Applets in Netscape - objects not seen

    I"m using Win95, Netscape 4.76, SilkTest 5.0.3.2
I'm having a problem recognizing any objects within a JavaApplet inside a web page.
For example: the checkbox sample from the JavaEx (file:///C|/Program Files/Segue/SilkTest/JavaEx/jtapplet/index.htm) folder only shows me that I have a JavaApplet :
    [+] window BrowserChild xCheckBox
    [ ] tag "CheckBox"
    [+] parent Browser
    [+] JavaApplet AJavaAppletWindow
    [ ] tag "#1"
    [+] HtmlLink ToMainControlList
[ ] tag "To Main Control List"

but SilkTest cannot see the static text, the textfields, pushbuttons, etc.

Does any one have any ideas on what could be causing this. What am I missing??

    I am using a Java 1.1.1 plugin
I've got JDK1.1.8 installed as well.
Classpath is set up in autoexec:
    SET CLASSPATH=.;c:\jdk1.1.8\bin;C:\PROGRA~1\SEGUE\SILK TEST\JavaEx\SilkTest_Java1.jar;%CLASSPATH%

I've set up with only the Netscape 4 browser extension with the Java plug-ins enabled,(- the same problem occurs with IE 5.0.5.)

This is my first attempt at capturing & testing Java applets within web apps.

Any ideas, suggestions, solutions, etc would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Java Applets in Netscape - objects not seen

I finally got the inlline Java applet to work:
it now recognizes all the objects in the http://gmo.segue.com/javaapplet.htm browser window.
I was trying to figure out why it seemed that my classpath was not being seen. So, I took the SilkTest_Java1.jar file, moved it to the root directory on the C:\ drive and gave it a short name to correspond with the DOS 8.3 naming convention. I called it STJava1.jar and changed the classpath to point to this new file name. I rebooted the system and recorded the window declaration successfully!!
