    Hi Purna,

For the purpose of testing on Solaris, you need to use Segue's QA Partner. However as far as I am aware QA Partner does not support browser based testing. (However, you may be able to do some very limited testing using the TypeKeys function).

QA Partner for Windows was replaced by SilkTest. The main difference between the two products is that SilkTest in addition to having all the functionality of QA Partner also has browser support.

    I hope that this helps.

Re: How to run Browser(GUI ) test on Solaris Machine

As has been mentioned in several recent posts, the current way to test Solaris is to drive your scripts from a Windows box, install the "SilkBean" (see online help) on the Solaris client, then have your Windows box connect to the "remote" (see online help again) Solaris box.

Another alternative MIGHT be to get ahold of an old version of QA Partner (the name of the product before it was changed to SilkTest) that was written for Unix platforms. However, Segue is no longer keeping that old Unix product up-to-date so SIlkBean would be the better approach for moving forward.

For UNIX browser testing, you're out of luck. The SilkBean will test only Java based
    applications on the UNIX client.

One possibility is to use the HOTJava browser by SUN. It is a Java Application.

I haven't tried this yet as this HotJava browser by SUN seems to be a buggy piece of garbage. Even worse than Netscape , if you can believe that.
