    Getting Started

I am following the tutorial for web applications on a win 98 m/c. I recorded a test case involving 'data entry' in the 'Order Quantity' field. However on playback, every step is followed but for the data entry part. The data entered appears to be blank. Please advice.

It would help if you could show the codes for the testcase you recorded for the data entry portion.
If you are getting any errors, what are they?

    my guess(blindly #_#)

    1)typo in your code
    2)wrong focus
3)the text to be set is in fact blank

Have a look at the following code: -
    OnLineCatalog.TheseAreTheItemsCurrently2.OrderQuan tity.QTY_BACKPACKS.SetText ("2")
On playback, it should enter 2 ,but it enters nothing in the text box.

If SetText () isn't working, try TypeKeys () and also slow down SilkTest (see Options/Agent/Timing tab) by setting the Keyboard and/or Mouse event delay to a higher number so you can see what's going on in that TextField.

    Try to do
if nothing happens then something is wrong with your reference.

I see that you are using a class defined by using Record|window declaration. Can you make sure it's referencing the correct control. Also try to do it using standard reference(BrowserPage.HtmlTextField..)

    Re: Getting Started

The TYPEKEY () is working fine ( instead of SetText ().
