silk test does not set defaultbase state

i have given below the .res file message occuring when i try to set the defaultbase state for the application (application:Orcad Capture)Pls tell how to overcome this.

    [ ] *** DefaultBaseState is invoking Capture
[ ] *** Error: Member sCmdLine is not defined in window Capture for Microsoft Windows/NT 4.0
    [ ] Occurred in Capture.Invoke
    [ ] Called from DefaultBaseState at defaults.inc(124)
    [ ] Called from main at $ScriptMain(2)

The .inc file i generated for the application
    is like this

    [ ] const wMainWindow = Capture
    [ ]
    [-] window MainWin Capture
    [+] multitag "*Capture"
    [ ] "$C:\Program Files\Orcad\Capture\capture.exe"
    [ ]
[ ] // The working directory of the application when it is invoked
    [ ] const sDir = "C:\Program Files\Orcad"
    [ ]
[ ] // The command line used to invoke the application
    [ ] const sCmdLine = "C:\Program Files\Orcad\Capture\capture.exe "
    [ ]
[ ] // The first window to appear when the application is invoked
    [ ] // const wStartup = ?
    [ ]
[ ] // The list of windows the recovery system is to leave open
    [ ] // const lwLeaveOpen = {?}
    [ ]

This error occured when i tried to create frame files for other applications like MS-Word also.
The options runtime i set was like this:

    Agent Name: (local) Network: disabled

    usepath: c:\ProgramFiles\Segue\Silk Test\testsilk\new.inc

    use files: c:\ProgramFiles\Segue\Silk Test\testsilk\new.inc

i checked the following check box options
    Results:
write to disk after each line
    find error stops at warnings
    show overall summary
    history size= 5
    Execution:
    show detailed status window

All the rest of the text fields and check boxes i left empty.is there any other field or check box option i need to enter?

Thanx in advance for ur time and suggestions.

Re: silk test does not set defaultbase state

To use the default recovery system, you need to 'learn' your main window. When you do this, Silk will place the startup command in the sCmdLine constant. So your main window declaration should be something like:

    [] window MainWin Capture
    tag "something"

const sDir = "directory of your executable"

    const sCmdLine = "executable name"

There may be some additional constants needed depending on how your application is invoked. All of this should be explained in the manuals and the help. A good section to read is the one on the recovery system.

    Good luck,

    Atlee

Showing us your MainWin declaration will help solve your problem a lot faster.
Also include any info about your Options/Runtime settings.

Re: silk test does not set defaultbase state

First of all, I'm guessing that the original post was updted after the 2 subsequent posts. From what I see in the initial post as of right now, the recorded window dec for the main app appears to be fine. You do have sCmdLine defined for the MainWin named Capture. However, you don't say what file this window dec is stored in. Is it stored in the new.inc that you reference in your "Use Files" value? What I'm getting at is are you sure that the window dec you provided us is in fact the one that SilkTest is using via your frame file.

Also, the "Use Path" value should be only a path and not include an actual filename. Was that a typo on your part or does your "Use path" value actually include the new.inc at the end of it?

And in the "Use path" and "Use files" values, do you reall have "ProgramFiles" (without a space) and "Silk Test" (with a space)? And are these the correct paths?

To answer your question, none of the other settings on the Runtime options dialogbox should be an issue in this regard.
