    Testing Links within Help Files

    Hello,

There are broken links in our applications' help files. The "Link Tester" tool in Silk seems to require a URL.

There is no URL for the help files.
Can I somehow use Link Tester to go through the contents of the help pages and check each link?

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    -George

Do your help pages have a Contents link? In my AUTs help file the Contents were the same as the opening page. By viewing the source of another page I was able to determine the URL of the Contents page, and give that to LinkTester.

    Hi,

Do you have a web server that you can use. What I do is copy the help files to my webserver and then give url name in the link tester.

    I hope this helps.

Re: Testing Links within Help Files

The main folder for the help files has 22 subfolders which in total, consists of roughly 850 html pages.

This project has been given back to our documentation department but I am still curious to whether or not Link Tester can do this.

    Thanks for the suggestion,

    George
