Take all look at the SetTrap() method in help. SetTrap checks for the existence of the specified windows at each 4Test statement that involves a call to the Agent.

This function may do what you are looking for.

I agree with mvpl. The best place to use SetTrap() is probably in a TestCaseEnter() or ScriptEnter() function.

The Function you have told (SetTrap()) is only for Browsers messages windows. That is when a Browser Message comes. But what i want is not for a browser Message but for a Page itself. When ever silk encounters a page (lets suppose Login Page from yahoo.com), it should automatically perform login action. This action should happen at any moment of time while executing the silk.

    Another Example:
While executing silk, i encounter "page cannot be displayed" page. I never know when is comes. But i want that when ever that page comes silk shoould kill and reopen a fresh browser and load the required page. To check the exestance of the "page cannot be displayed" page, i can write a function, but i have to call that function after every line and that increases the code. Iansted if we have something which checks for the presence of the page internally, it will be helpfull.

Actually SetTrap is not a browser specific method, but was in existence in QAPartner before Silk 1.0 came about. Nonetheless, you are correct that it looks for a window, and you are looking for a page. This could be pretty cumbersome...

You might establish a boolean bFound=ErrorPage.Exists(2) and call this at each place that page could possibly appear. That could involve a lot of work and it is a real ugly way to go about it.

It would be a nice enhancement in Silk to have a SetTrap method that looked for a browser page, or object on a page. It might be possible to write your own method similar to set trap that watched for calls to the agent and with each call, made its own call to ErrorPage.Exists().

If you do not mind starting the testcase again after the unwanted page has appeared then the following should serve your purpose

Write all the code of the testcase in a function (main function)and write it within a - do.... except statement. In the except you can check for the existence of unwanted page and do the needful. After this you can make a call to the main function.

I am asking you to make the whole testcase code as a function so as to be able to call it again in the except. If there is a way to call a testcase then we need not make a function.
