A few Links found but not Clicked on one Silk installation but not another

I have installed Silktest 5.0.3.1 on two almost identical machines running Win2K and have been able to run my scripts on one but not the other.

The problem lies in Silk not clicking on a specific set of links that consist of a row of capital Letters (A,B,C...Z) that open up simple JSP/HTML pages with list of links with alphabetized names. On the original installation there is no problem but on the "clone", it can only click on certain links and not others.

What happens is the cursor-arrow goes to the link but then becomes a text-insert icon on the actual click and not opening the URL. 4-test debugging yields no clues that I've been able to pick up. Any ideas about what may be happening? Work arounds?

    TIA
    Michael

    Did you record frames?

If yes, can Silk recognize the links (the ones that are not clicking) when you use "Record/Window Identifiers" ?

I'm sure you must have tried doing it manually and did not find the cursor changing from POINTER to IBEAM (or did it?).
Did you try slowing things down a little bit just to see what's really going on with the cursor, focus, etc. like putting at least a sleep (3) before clicking on the LETTER(S)?
Besides clicking with the mouse, does your app support other ways of navigating thru these links such as using the Tab key? If so, and the normal stuffs still won't work, you may have to find some "work-arounds" on being able to navigate then set focus to the target LETTER(S).
Just a thought, try clicking on another area in the same screen (a few times) to ensure that the cursor is still showing as a POINTER before going into where the LETTERS are. Hope this will give you more clues on what's going on!

There were no diagnostic clues as to this problem and had to resort to a work-around:

I ended up writing a click method that uses the tab key and enter to access the links. Thanks for all your help.
