    Books for new users

    Hi folks,

I am a new user of Silk Test. I just started working with Silk Test 5.0. I am having a hard time finding books and other kinds of didactic material for learning Silk Test. I have the User's guide which isn't helping that much. I would appreciate any help.
    Thanks,
    Helmar

    Re: Books for new users

The best way to learn SilkTest is to get training. There are many training facilities around the country. Segue ranks 1st (I think) if you can afford it. There are many other schools that can benefit you in ways that Segue cannot. There is no book out there which will teach you a specific tool. There are some books that will teach automation in general (2 of which are linked from the links page of www.betasoft.com).

Hope that gives you a starting point.

    Hi AJ Alhait,
Thanks for your reply. I was afraid that the answer would look just like that. I see a great opportunity for one to write the "First 'real' book about Silk Test".

Don't think I haven't thought about it even in my sleep. It's a large effort plus you need authorization etc... (And most importantly: Time

    Re: Books for new users

Have you looked on the Segue website lately? I found that under the DOWNLOADS section of the site you can find the 4Test Reference Guide and the Testing Web Applications book in PDF format.
    Hope this helps.
