    Unable to read Dynamic text.

How can I read dynamic text that is displayed in Java table. There are two parts of the text. One is static and the other
part is Dynamic. Only the static text shows up in the Window Declaration.
Thanks in advance for all the response.

Re: Unable to read Dynamic text.

1)disable tables(look around the forums for the code)
2)you have to use Exits to check if the text control exist
3)then reference the text control by #
4)make your static text controls point of reference.

It depends how your table is setup. Can you describe more:
is the table fixed? the text control fix in number(I don't care if the caption or text changes).

It sounds like you have dynamic and static text in the same table cell, is that correct?

Re: Unable to read Dynamic text.

How do I disable the Table...?
Yes the Static text and the Dynamic text are
    in the same Table.
Let me briefly explain the contents displayed
    in the table..
The Table contains the name of the Device,
which is 'Static' text. also it has the
Dynamic text, stating the status of the connection ,whether the Device is connected or Disconnected.
    Thanks

Re: Unable to read Dynamic text.

    Thanks GodKnows, for the code..

Tried the code for testing my Desktop JAva application.
I included the SetOption in the script file.
Now I am Getting an error message stating
    "SetUSerOption has not been registered".
How do I solve this problem...?

    Thanks

Re: Unable to read Dynamic text.

I am not sure why you are getting this error.
    Try to include browser.inc, explorer.inc

Also check the help about boarderless tables.

Re: Unable to read Dynamic text.

Are you using DOM? I just started using DOM, if you are using DOM you can't use these functions.

I guess you already solved your problem.

Re: Unable to read Dynamic text.

Sounds to me like it's a Java client app, not a browser app. The thing about disabling the table is a browser thing.

Can you get SilkTest to "see" the dynamic text control when it IS there? I have several such things in my app. I have to get the object to exist then record the window dec and merge just that additional object into the existing window dec. Or just code it yourself, if you know what the class of the control is I would venture to guess it might be something like this:
