    4Test OR .NET

We are switching over to Silktest 15.5 Open Agent because current version (2011) of Silktest don't support IE9 and above versions.

Now we are in dilemma whether we should move over to .NET programming or continue with 4Test only with SilkTest 15.5.

Can anybody through some light of advantages of .NET over 4Test or vice versa?

The answer (unfortunately) depends. If you are comfortable with Silk Test Classic and 4Test (as a language) then there is no need to change.

If you like the idea of using Visual Studio as your development environment which you can use C# or VB.Net (and the ability to consume any .Net assembly) then Silk4Net is your choice.

Of course there is also Silk4J using Eclipse or Silk Test Workbench that has its own development environment for VB.Net and it has Visual tests.

The great thing is that all of these clients use the OpenAgent so you only have to learn the Silk Test API once (obviously there are language syntax differences).

    Enjoy!

    Thank You for reply...

Can I assume that if I continue using 4Test, then also I can use all libraries of Silktest as it is and It will not stop using me any future enhancements of Silktest?

Yes, as long as you use the OpenAgent instead of the Classic Agent.
