Upgrade to Silk 5.0 loses MessageBox pushbuttons and changes window declarations!

We just got Silk 5.0 (had been using QAP 4.6.2) and after installing it and trying the automation code we used before, it can't find pushbuttons on Message Boxes. Even though it can find the pushbutton (Exists() is true) and find its Rect, and the entire dialog is in the middle of the screen, an OK.Click() results in an error "Window cannot be scrolled into view"

When I compared window declarations for the Message Box and its pushbuttons between the two versions, they are different -- 5.0 calls the pushbutton a checkbox, and the class is different.

    Any ideas?

Since you are testing a regular Window application. Have you tried to disable all the Browsers extensions, prior to your Window declarations recording?

Thanks for the reply, and I tried it. But it didn't make a difference -- the window and control declarations still had changed, and the pushbutton won't click.

OK since it is hard to narrow down what's wrong, here is a list of things to try:

    1. Uninstall Silk5.0 Completely.
    2. If QAP 4.6.2 still exists Uninstall completely. (then reboot)
    3. Reinstall Silk 5.0 (then reboot)

What type of application are you testing (I'm assuming regular C++ developed app, not Java or something else)?

Next try it on a machine which has never had QAP installed on it, install Silk5 and retry.

    Hope that helps.
