    Link Smaller Test Together

I have multiple smaller test (non-Web) that I would like to link and run as one large test. My scripting is pretty sloppy and does not always work. Any short clean ways to do this.

This is the base of a new script I am working. I am keeping it more general

    [-] DocumentQuery () appstate none
    [ ] print (" ")
    [ ] // results to print
    [ ]
    [-] DocumentWorkflow () appstate none
    [ ] print (" ")
    [ ] // results to print
    [ ]
    [-] SystemReports () appstate none
    [ ] print (" ")
    [ ] // results to print
    [ ]
    [-] main()
    [ ] DocumentQuery ()
    [ ] DocumentWorkflow ()
    [ ] SystemReports ()

Well the way I do this is to use a main loop. Some others here like planner, but i'm old fashioned. The Idea is that you either make the .t files available to the main loop through a use statement or you can includ them in the same file as the main loop.

BTW if you want to string these tests together you will probably want to make sure you have a logical start and finish to the testcase where the next one is not dependent of the one before finishing

Here is how it works create a .t file and do the following:

    Re: Link Smaller Test Together

    Hi,

You could also create a .pln file:

    [-] Verify document query
    [ ] script: ...
    [ ] testcase: DocumentQuery
    [ ]
    [-] Verify document workflow
    [ ] script: ...
    [ ] testcase: DocumentWorkflow
    [ ]
    [-] Verify system reports
    [ ] script: ...
    [ ] testcase: SystemReports

You can attach high level test descriptions with each testcases. In addition, it is also possible to attach attributes to each testcase. You can then select and execute subsets of tests from the plan.
