    java standalone app I assume.
    try this diagnostic

Go to the javaex\status directory under the Silk program directory.

From MSDOS prompt run "java Status" and see if the results are OK. It should tell you whether the SilkTest.jar file is in your path, java ver, etc

    Re: Testing Java Applications

Right click on the AGENT in the taskbar and find out what extensions are loaded. If java is there and is the same .exe as you use to run your app, then your issue is your classpath. Use the status files to find that out as the person above mentioned, or in the help.

    Re: Testing Java Applications

Here's a few other ideas. Not much more we can do to help without more detailed info about the environment.
    1. Are you running your app using the java.exe command with your app's .jar file? Or are you running your app using the .exe file that you send to customers for them to use?

    2. You're running the SilkTest Agent then SilkTest then your app, right? Or is your app already running before you run SilkTest?

    Re: Testing Java Applications

    Thanks everybody for giving me
ideas for the problem I faced in Silk.
    Thanks to Segue Tech support.
After making some changes and upgrades I was
    able to resolve the problem.
Details of the Application and Tool:
    Environment: Client Server system
    Server : Sun
    Client : Win 2000
Client is Java based Desktop application.

Problem: Silk was able to detect only the
Windows, but unable to detect all the child controls.

Solution: Upgraded my Silk ver from 5.0.3
to 5.0.3.2, going in to www.segue.com.
    Also included 'Silk\JavaEx\Silktest_java2.jar 'in the
CLASSPATH of the Client batch file, which
    was executing the application.

It looks like after this , the Silk is able
to recognize most of the controls..

    Thanks once again..

    Re: Testing Java Applications

    Just to clarify ...

    1. The true solution to this problem was the CLASSPATH setting.

    2. Upgrading Silk to the latest version is a standard Tech Support approach with Segue and almost every other Tech Support organization I've every worked with. Makes their life easier and why not?
