    Re: Text property in a Java Window

    Raul,

    You will not be able to get any Text from your control because SilkTest defines it as a customwin (custom windows only have very limited functionality in SilkTest).

    Try Recording the class for your java control and derive it from some class type with text values. Re-record your window declarations and then try to get some text values.

    You may find that the control itself has a method or property that returns the text value. If their is one, it will appear in the list of methods and properties in the winclass declaration and your developers should be able to tell you which method or property it is.

    Hope this helps,

    Paul

    Text property in a Java Window

    I hava a Java Window and it has
    text within it.

    I do a GetProperty on the Java window and it returns a list of properties. None of the properties are of type text.

    [ ] lsPropertyNames = TrustpointPKIAdministrator.JavaxSwingJSplitPane.Ja vaJFCChildWin("1 : Policies Management : internal:??C:?program files?trustpoint_ca?ca?policy_db").CustomWin("[javax.swing.JSplitPane]#1|$javax.swing.JSplitPane").GetPropertyList ()

    [ ] lsPropertyNames = TrustpointPKIAdministrator.JavaxSwingJSplitPane.Ja vaJFCChildWin("1 : Policies Management : internal:??C:?program files?trustpoint_ca?ca?policy_db").CustomWin("[javax.swing.JSplitPane]#1|$javax.swing.JSplitPane").GetPropertyList ()

    lsPropertyNames returns {"Rect", "Enabled", "$DividerLocation", "$DividerSize", "$LastDividerLocation", "$Orientation"}

    It doesn't seem to have any property for the text that is displayed in the window.

    I can select window text and copy to clipbrd to get the value, but I want to avoid that.
