Keyboard and Mouse Event Delays on fast machines

Any suggestions on setting the Keyboard event delay and Mouse event delay on fast machines (800 Mhz and faster)?
(it seems like 0.02 seconds is still too fast)
Or what Timing settings (see below) work well for you, assuming your PC's speed is 1Ghz or at least 800Mhz?

    Window timeout (seconds):
    Window retry interval (seconds):
    Keyboard event delay (seconds):
    Mouse event delay (seconds):
    App ready timeout (seconds):
    App ready retry interval (seconds):

    Thanks!

Re: Keyboard and Mouse Event Delays on fast machines

    Hi Gilbert,

These settings should be independent of the speed of the machine, as they are dimensioned in seconds. I imagine that the default settings should be adequate. I suggest adjusting the values, maybe at runtime using Agent.SetOption (...) to determine the optimal values.

    Thanks John.
So, did you just use the default values for Timing from the installation or did you change any of these values? If changed, which one(s) did you end up changing?

Re: Keyboard and Mouse Event Delays on fast machines

In general, I leave the default values unchanged bar the mouse and keyboard events.

Only ones that may help when running tests on different machines is playing with the window timeout and retry interval. The window timeout may need to be increased if your running on a machine/server with a slower response time. It will not hurt to have extra cushion in the timeout, it will just take longer to fail (as long as the timeout is). It is similar for the retry interval. If your development does not use hourglasses or your application takes a while in some responses, increase your window timeout. You will see the benefit with higher window timeout on your setactives---they will not fail as often.

    Thanks Tony!
I'll play around with the Window timeout and retry intervals settings.
