    Performance and Load Testing

    Hi,

I have been testing web application using Silk and want to do Performance and Load testing for same application. We have got so many custom windows in this application when we are testing.

Which is the best tool for performance and load testing?

My company is thinking of going for WebLoad, is this best?

Can anyone have anyideas to share with me in performance and load testing.

    Many thanks in advance.

Check out SilkPerformer from Segue, LoadRunner from Mercury even try a freebie tool from Microsoft first http://homer.rte.microsoft.com/
Or forecast from Facilita.com. QALoad from Compuware too.

    Re: Performance and Load Testing

I just when through a round of benchmarking using Loadrunner. It did almost everything that I wanted it to do. The reporting section has gotten better. You just might want to check out the tool if your company's budget can handle it. The tool ain't cheap.

    Re: Performance and Load Testing

I strongly suggest you evaluate each performance / load app. with the product under test, before you commit. You may find that the "best" tool just does not work well with the app you are testing...

I've seen this in a unnamed company that I have worked for in the past, where mucho dinero was spent, and then it was found out the tool did not work with the product!
