    SilkTest Causing Firefox to crash

    Sorry for the wall of text but I wanted to give the best explanation of what I have done so far. I have an incident report into Micro Focus at the moment, but all the help I can get the better.

    This started Monday AUG 18th 2010 before this my scripts ran well. I made no settings changes nor did I make any Script changes. I have my project set up to run 500+ test cases. Both in IE and Firefox. I set up 2 different Frame.inc files to handle running 2 different browsers. Each test script only runs one browser. And uses a Use framex.inc to determine what browser it is running one. I use a global included frame in the project sittings for a custom test case exit and enter function. The enter function sets up a random seed based of the current system time. The test case exit function is much more complex based off the test case it is called from it sets up a unique token string then saves that string off and the results to a text file for later processing. After that it finds all open browser applications and closes them one at a time with a 5 second interval in between. This runs fine in IE and was running fine in fire fox until Monday when Firefox started to through a pure virtual function run time error when it was being closed. After running numerous debugs and using print statements I was able to track the error down to when the main window closes after a pop up.

    I have taken steps to make the script as basic as possible eliminating all function calls and removing all the custom enter and exit functions. The error persisted. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox removed all add-ons, extensions, and plug-ins from Firefox. I have repairs and reinstalled silk. Still the error persisted. I did a system restore to the Friday before the issue started still no fix.

    I tried to create a work around and just have silk close the error pop up since it happened on the very last step of the script and did not affect anything. But because itís a windows error box Silk test cannot access it while being set up for web apps.

    This is the function I'm using to close the browsers.

    [ ] templist =Desktop.FindAll("//BrowserApplication")
    [ ] LoopCounter =listcount(templist)
    [-] while LoopCounter > 0
    [ ] Print ("Loop Coutner" +[string]LoopCounter)
    [ ] templist[LoopCounter].Close()
    [ ] LoopCounter = LoopCounter -1
    [ ] sleep(5)

    Here is the error information from the windows pop up. I traced accessibilitydll.dll to the Open Agent folder.

    AppName: firefox.exe AppVer: 1.9.1.3685 ModName: accessibilitydll.dll
    ModVer: 10.1.0.3581 Offset: 0001512d

    update, after spending time with the support-line tech we got this issue resolved. He had to comment out the call to the accessibilitydll.dll from the Firefox open agent set up.
