    Replacing CustomWin with a string

    Hi all,

    I want to call a function which captures a bitmap of any specified object.

    Instead of sth. like this

    Word.Menu.OleControl.ClientArea.CaptureBitmap()

    I want to save the object ID "Word.Menu.OleControl." in a variable string and call sth like this

    myObject.ClientArea.CaptureBitmap()

    Is this possible? And how this is possible?

    Thx

    Re: Replacing CustomWin with a string

    using the @ (reference operator), you can construct all the objects in the chain
    look it up in the SilkTest help or in this forum

    Re: Replacing CustomWin with a string

    You can do that with the @ operator but you have to do it piece by piece. This won't work:

    @("Word.Menu.OleControl.ClientArea").CaptureBitmap ()

    You have to do:

    @("Word").@("Menu").@("OleControl").@("ClientArea" ).CaptureBitmap()

    Why do you want to use a STRING? If you use a WINDOW you can just call CaptureBitmap() on the window variable. e.g.

    WINDOW theWin = Word.Menu.OleControl.ClientArea
    theWin.CaptureBitmap()
