    Customwindow - CustomWin MSFlexGridWndClass

    Hi Guys,

    Here is my question.

My application is written in VC+++.

In my application I have a table. Which silk recognizes as "CustomWin MSFlexGridWndClass1".

So I enabled the ActiveX control for my Application. Which I did it using the .exe file of my application.

Now On NT, silk recognizes this table as
    "OLEMSFlexGrid OLEMSFlexGrid1". That's good.

But on Windows 98 or Windows ME silk still recognizes as custom window."CustomWin MSFlexGridWndClass1".

Here is sample code. for NT
    [-] DialogBox Data
    [ ] tag "$0"
    [-] OLEMSFlexGrid OLEMSFlexGrid1
    [ ] tag "#1"

Here is sample doe for Windows ME
    [-] DialogBox Data
    [ ] tag "$0"
    [-] CustomWin MSFlexGridWndClass1
    [ ] msw tag "[MSFlexGridWndClass]$0"

Thank you very much for your help.

Looks like your ActiveX extension is not working for some reason.
    It can be very finicky.
I have had problems with third party DLLs and now I try to use only "clean" installs of the OS. (Unless I am running a compatibility test)

Do you realize that the ActiveX extension must be turned on in TWO different places ?

One place is the stand-alone "Extension Enabler".
You must then repeat the process from SilkTest's "Options" -> "Extensions" menu.

The "XX.EXE" must show the same spelling and capitalization in both places.
I usually use all caps, but I am not sure this makes a difference.

    Hi Rob,

Yes I have turned on the extension at both places.

It works fine in NT but somehow it is having problem with Windows ME.

    Thanks.

Does ActiveX work with other Applications ?
Microsoft Outlook has lots of ActiveX controls.

If you enable ActiveX for "OUTLOOK.EXE", do the controls display correctly ?

    This is what I suspected.
Something is broken in your installation.
This is really a case for Segue Tech Support.

If you do not have the patience required to deal with them, I suggest that you wipe your hard drive and install a clean Windows ME.
I also suggest that you save an image of your clean OS, so that you can bring it back when this happens in the future.

    Re: Customwindow - CustomWin MSFlexGridWndClass

Aha, just read your post again. Win ME is not supported (yet) so I am not surprised that you are having trouble. One way to test your Win 98 installation is to verify that you can test IE 5.0. If that works, you can be reasonably sure that your installation is ok.
