    Copy MenuItems from Menu Toolbar.....

Iam working on menutoolbar, this is custom window. The menu hierarchy is Menuname(Click) --> MenuItemName(Click) --> SubMenuItemName(Click).
The main problem is I can't use keyboard keys at all(i.e., left, right, up, down keys doesn't work, and also Esc, Tab keys too) Only mouse left button works on this toolbar.
Even I can't copy any text into clipboard. Iam recording testcases with mouse coordinates, but I'd like to automate the script, and need to write a function to execute the menuitems.
Does anyone have any ideas how I might accomplish this task?

    Many thanks in advance.

Re: Copy MenuItems from Menu Toolbar.....

Some experimentation is required but you might be able to use the technique described in the section titled "Supporting Graphical Controls", in the chapter titled "Supporting Custom Objects" in the User's Guide. The description starts on page 320 in the version 5.01 guide.

Using this technique you map various column:row "hot spots" on the custom popup menus such that each location [which are screen resolution independent] maps to one menu item in the popup.

    Hope this helps.

P.S. If this does not work I would suggest that you ask the developers to give keyboard control over the selection of these menus and their menu items.

    Thanks Terry.
But I have still trouble with menus..see below menu toolbar window declarations:

    [ ] const wMainWindowToolbar = HBT // HomeBaseToolbar
    [ ]
[-] window MainWin HBT // HomeBaseToolbar
    [ ] tag "[DialogBox]OneView HomeBaseToolbar"
    [ ]
[ ] // The working directory of the application when it is invoked
    [ ] const sDir = "C:\WINDOWS\Profiles\scotthb1.000\Desktop"
    [ ]
[ ] // The command line used to invoke the application
    [ ] const sCmdLine = "C:\Oneview\HomeBase\HomeBaseToolbar.exe "
    [ ]
[ ] // The first window to appear when the application is invoked
    [ ] // const wStartup = ?
    [ ]
[ ] // The list of windows the recovery system is to leave open
    [ ] // const lwLeaveOpen = {?}
    [ ]
    [-] CustomWin AtlAxWin1
    [ ] msw tag "[AtlAxWin]$0"
    [-] CustomWin ShellEmbedding1
    [ ] msw tag "[Shell Embedding]$0"
    [-] CustomWin ShellDocObjectView1
    [ ] msw tag "[Shell DocObject View]$0"
    [-] CustomWin InternetExplorer_Server1
    [ ] msw tag "[Internet Explorer_Server]$0"

I think this is helpful to get more idea, Could you please give anymore ideas if u have?

I'd like to write a function for automation that should navigate all menus, menuitems and submenus...is that possible by using mouse coordinates? The function should take three arguments, Menuname, MenuItemname and Submenuitemname.

    Well...

First, what is the technology that this applicaiton is written in [i.e. C++, VB, etc.]? I find the underlying custom classes quite mystifying. If this is a VB application make sure you are correctly integrated with the Extension.

Second, you have not tried to experiment with the techniques I recommended that are described in your users manual. You are going to have to fiddle with different ideas in order to work around this type of custom win problem.

I can't figure out what is going on by looking at your code.

I can't promise that I have the time, but if you send me the application [assuming it is standalone], along with your frame, I will try to experiement with it, as time permits.

Thank you very much Terry once again....

I tried what you told me earlier from users manual. Iam attaching the files for your perview.
    1. toolbar_inc.txt (windows declarations)
    2. toolbar_t.txt (testcase .t file).

Iam able to access menu names those are existed in single row and diffents columns, but I need to do is once click on menu name it drops menu items list. I want to select a menu item from the menu items.

ex. MenuName : Desktop (Click) --> MenuItemname: Logon(Click) --it opens a Logon window. Like this the menu toolbar works...there are lot of menuitems and submenu items. How can I accomplish this task?
I believe you might give me solution / ideas for the above task.

    Many thanks in advance.
