Advice to a newbie !
The copmpany I work for, recently ordered SilkTest to implement in our QA Dept. After playing with it a little, it seems that it might not be the best tool to use to test Borland C++ Builder apps. We're massively using Datasets, grids, COM objets and I feel like I will have to code almost the entire test scripts so it recognizes custom objects, is SilkTest the right choice for such apps ???
Thanks in advance!
Re: Advice to a newbie !
As long as your App-Under-Test (AUT) does have the keyboard interface support, you will have an easy time with SilkTest. Otherwise, you'll have to play around with the Right Mouse clicks, Left Mouse clicks, Clipboard's Copy/Cut and Paste, Tabs, Arrow Keys, etc. to create your own methods/functions. In short, SilkTest will work (thru lots of work-arounds) and not from just using its built-in functions.
If you happen to have tried this (handling Custom objects) using other test tools, let us know which one and how easy/difficult it was.
