SilkTest Fails to identify/act on minimized window

In my automation environment[WinXP], Silk Test is failing to recognize the minimized application child window, thus gives an error window not found. I tried many alternatives including GetChildren, but no luck, its failing again and again. No luck with agent options such as EXPOSED,ENABLED etc.

Also in another case though a browserchild exists on the screen behind another bigger window, SilkTest does not act on that.

Experienced people, please share your workarounds.

    Thanks
    Sudhi

Yes. We already discussed the same in this forum. Silk test have the problem of making windows active. In this forum, there was a suggestion to install a TOol TweakUI which makes any window to be active during the execution ( You can search in this forum). Other alternative is to Keep your mail agent (Eg . Microsoft Office Outlook)active during the execution of the scripts. Once you start run , keep your mail agent active and then your application should be in focus. Its a dll issue. I tried this and it worked out.

    Sudhi,

It is a strange issue. I never had this kind of issue.

Have you made your MainWin as active and then tried for ChildWin?

Than can you post part of your window (Main & Child) declarations?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Palani.

Re: SilkTest Fails to identify/act on minimized wi

    Palani,

I have tried with SetActive() MainWin before ChildWin, still the ChildWin in minimized state / error thrown.

I have taken window declaration in this case. I will share the code lines.

    Thanks

    Just a thought

    Desktop.TypeKeys( "<Alt-Tab>" )

    or

    Desktop.TypeKeys ( "<Shift-Alt-Tab>" )

    or

if the child window shows up in the XP toolbar you could use the taskbar to set focus to the childwin and right click typekeys ( r ) to restore it.
