    Is there a SilkTest FAQ?

    Is there a FAQ for SilkTest?

    I haven't been able to find one.

    Also I would to know the following:

    If you have something like this in a test script...

    String sText
    HTMLPage.HTMLPage.HiMom.IEServer.ATL.Screen.Status Bar1.DynamicText2.Click
    (1, 17, 8)
    sText =
    HTMLPage.HTMLPage.HiMom.IEServer.ATL.Screen.Status Bar1.DynamicText2.GetText
    ()

    would it be possible to replace it with something like...

    String sText
    StatusBar status = HTMLPage.HTMLPage.HiMom.IEServer.ATL.Screen.Status Bar1

    status.DynamicText2.Click (1, 17, 8)
    sText = status.DynamicText2.GetText ()

    Not exactly an essential matter, but it would things look neater.

    Thanx for any info.

    Re: Is there a SilkTest FAQ?

    Thank you Mauro, that is potentially useful information, but I don't think that it gives me what I want (maybe I didn't phrase my question correctly).

    I have however found a solution for myself. The following example works:

    String sText
    WINDOW wStatusBar = HTMLPage.HTMLPage.HiMom.IEServer.ATL.Screen.Status Bar1

    wStatusBar.DynamicText2.Click (1, 17, 8)
    sText = wStatusBar.DynamicText2.GetText ()

    In first post I used

    StatusBar status = HTMLPage...

    instead of

    WINDOW wStatusBar = HTMLPage...

    It would seem to be the case that I can create a generic WINDOW item and assign an AnyWin derived object to it. That WINDOW item will then behave exactly like the object I have assigned to it.

    This is what I want.
