I'm testing a 3-tier web app and mainly interested in checking the files that are batch processed make it through to the front end, that bit is fine. However, i'm now being asked to verify that the output files that are generated by an overnight batch process are correct. To do this manually I connect to the Solaris box using Tunnelier, grab the files and check their contents.
I'm keen to avoid having to create a new project and recording declarations for Tunnelier since I am not interested in that app. Does anyone know how I might grab the files using either the built-in SYS / File commands or a simple way that I can achieve this?
An alternative I am considering is writing a shell script on the Solaris box which puts the files I want in a mapped drive that SilkTest can access...
Thanks in advance for suggestions.
The shortest distance between two points is under construction.
you could try copying the files via scp using the automated mode of winscp: http://winscp.net/eng/docs/scripting
the requirements for scp on the unix box are afaik only ssh access, which you most likely have anyway to connect to it.
