    Re: capturing text?

When you record window declarations, you have the option to generate multitags
which will recognize objects by their bitmap "Location".
These tags have the form "@(227, 10)".

This usually does not work very well, however.
With Windows/C++ apps it sometimes is acceptable.
I have never gotten location tags to work with Java apps.

You can also try adding the "Location suffix" to your tags.

    Re: capturing text?

Why would you want to do that?

If you want to know if the text is there and you have a good tag for it you can use IsEnabled ()

If you need the text you can use GetText ()

If you need its location you can use GetLocation ()

If you want all thre or any combination thereof use the Verify method.

Silk is really muck more geared towards objects. Trying to work by location just lends itself to the tools weaknesses

Oh and BTW if you need only certain parts of the text you can use the optional parameters in GetText, SelectText, GetMultiText or SelectMultiText.
