Parsing and regular expression
This is my code
"Department.aspx?PageType=4&amp;DeptID=1&a mp;SCatName=Furniture&amp;SCatID=1&amp;Cat ID=1&amp;CatName= 39839475977477 ><strong>Metal Bookcases</strong></a></h4></div>
The text in bold is always changing and my programming logic requries me that my right delimiter will be ><strong>Metal Bookcases</strong></a></h4></div>
Metal Bookcases is also changing so cannot be hardcoded
I want to parse SCatID and DeptID from my source code.
Is there anything like * operator while parsing?
I have went through this forum topic but not understood..
Re: Parsing and regular expression
ok for SCatID ,
your boundaries will be
for BOLD MARKDED no
you need to use web parse data bound ex funtion before the request which is generating these in server response.
Also you need to place the variables before the request where you are passing the value. These variables are also to be replaced in the dcl Form section if they are hardcoded.
All these work can be saved if you know how to use true log explorer with control F,please note i am not talking about customise session button.
if you are using the true log explorer make sure that you have boundaries in place before replacing the values.
Also identifly first request which generates these values.
If your aim is only parsing , i dont think i willt ake more time. Also make sure that you are verifying the values in output file.this is very important given that SP is sometimes lazy to replace the values in all occurance or maynot place it in correct place.
Based on your feedback i also feel that you dont require to use REGEX for the same.
In case data is in form of table , then you can also parse it in HTML Table format, one of the best feature SP has compared to any other tool in the market or maybe none of the other tool can do that without custom coding.
