1. ## 90th Percentile

Hello,

I am in search of the exact formula for calculating 90th percentile value.

Load Runner is using some sorting algos for this. But I am using SilkPerformer and it was using a different formula. Microsoft Excel Function also following that formula (i am getting the same values from excel & SP).

Regards,
N.Karthikeyan.

2. ## Re: 90th Percentile

When I was using Empirix they utilized the formula: median + (standard deviation * 1.67) Don't know if it's correct, but googling doesn't seem to be coming up with a hard formula either.

3. ## Re: 90th Percentile

Can you please help me and share any silkperform learning/Training documents, because i have a experince in silk test past 3 yr, but i don't have experience in silk performer.

Thanks
Kishore

Yes zen! I too cant find a standard formula for this! But i got onething from all the formulas. Everything is giving more or less similar results when the data is very large (say 1000). Even the procedure which uses the sorting algorithm is giving good results. Since 90th percentile is a range and we dont need the exact 90th percentile in decimal places, following the sorting procedure is very simple and time saving.

5. ## Re: 90th Percentile

Well SP give the percentile graph and you can use it.Gives pretty good figure.

6. ## Re: 90th Percentile

But it wont give for each http request. On getting the percentile value in that way is something useless for us - right?

7. ## Re: 90th Percentile

percentile figure for each request?

Yes!

9. ## Re: 90th Percentile

Hi,

Is it possible to export the percentile values of the Timers from the Overview Report to a .csv file?

10. ## Re: 90th Percentile

Hi Ajay,

I am not sure about it... upto my knowledge it is not possible! but we can do it in another way. There is a function call measuregetpercentile. refer that you can get the percentile value of the respective timers using that and its sub-ordiate functions...
