I am Using Oracle Forms
I get a error saying "Oraforms 21: Function call timed out".
I have tried using wait statement, but it has not worked.
Can any one tell me why is this happening and what is the solution for it?
I have checked the Seque's Knowledge base, but i did not find any proper solution.
I am using Silkperformer 2006 R2 version.
When i record the script there is a click event where i get response after more than 8 min i.e on clicking a button it takes more than 8 minutes to display the combo - box assigned to the button.
While running the script, at the same point i.e at OraFormsButtonPress Function I get the error message "OraFormsButtonPress(OraForms: 21 - Communication Error., The function call timed out.)".
I have tried using wait statement at every point before the Function as well as after the function. But still I get the same error.
I have checked the Seque's Knowledge base for this.
can any one tell me the solution for this?
Ouch... 8 mins? Sounds serious. Have you made any investigation into this i.e. approaching developers, admins etc as to why this is happening? Personally I think 8 mins is far to long a wait for what you have described as the function of the click event. I think that would be your next step. Raise a priority 1 defect to your networking/infrastructure team and see what they come up with. Could be something as simple as a duff switch or load balancer.
The developers have said that this delay of 8 mins and more is due to the extra checks they have applied for each user for load testing and would not happen if one useer is logged in.
This thing they have temporarily done for load testing.
Well if that's the case then there is obviously a fault somewehere as 8 mins is a bit excessive and also in some respects negates what you are trying to performance test. If you have a dedicated environment to execute your testing, why are development messing with the application base?
